Great Service
I took my 2004 Durango into Michigan Motor Exchange two months ago and had them replace my engine. My experience with them was very positive from the start. They were very thorough in explaining everything that needed to be done and told me at that time I might need some additional parts after diagnosing the problem. They called me to ok everything and explained that these were preventative maintenance items. It has been two months now and I have 1200 miles on the engine and everything is running smoothly. I did have a check engine light come on so called them immediately and went back in to have them check it out. It ended up being nothing and they cleared the code for me. I would highly recommend Michigan Motor Exchange and I would not hesitate to go back to them for future business.
Great Customer Service
I had my 2000 Escalade motor rebuilt, dropped the vehicle off 2-5-2013 and picked it up 2-11-2013. They went out of there way to give me a ride home. In addition to the rebuild they installed extras such as (belts, hoses, rotor, wires) preparing the car for the next 100,000 miles. I could not be happier for the service I rec'd from everyone involved, from the front guy at the counter to the one that gave me a ride home. Everyone was friendly and professional.If you need work done and want to be comfortable knowing it is taken care of, have it done at Michigan Motor Exchange. I'm surprised you didn't get a free lunch and a couple of tickets to a Tiger game. They went out of their way with belts, hoses, rotor, wires,preparing you for the next 100,000miles? You make it sound as if it was free. Aside from the garbage work they did on my vehicle after having it three times, they couldn't even tally my bill correctly. This was witnessed and could not be made up. THE COMPUTER DOES IT ALL AND THE COMPUTER IS NEVER WRONG!! $570.00 plus tax equals $966.00. Not where I went to school buddy! This whole mess has cost me $4,500 for the defective engine, many more thousands in incidental fees and by the time it will be over with, I'll have spent as much to almost buy a new truck. I don't have anything good at all to say about any of the folks I dealt with at MME, especially the ownership. After reading all these five star reviews that boast hundreds of thousands of miles, never leaks a drop of anything, super friendly, expert, runs like a top, wonderful, rides home, etc., I must be the most unlucky person on earth...or somebody is fibbing.
DEFECTIVE ENGINE
A five star mess from the beginning! Michigan Motor Exchange advertises customer satisfaction as their number one priority…master mechanics…professionals…who perform their services to the highest industry standards. After the original time estimates and monetary quotes were much higher than promised, I was delivered an engine that was defective. How can these pros deliver an engine with cross contamination and very poor performance? How can they have the vehicle three times and deliver it with the same contamination? How can they deny that the coolant is not contaminated, calling it rust? My friends, family, neighbors, various pro mechanics and the State of Michigan all attested to the contamination and the defective engine. Everything was to blame for my poor engine performance except the people that built the engine. I was recently contacted and offered a leap of faith gesture to take another crack at an engine that has been a total mess for more than a year now. I have wanted a refund for a while now but it looks like the “good people” at Michigan Motor Exchange don’t see that as satisfaction for a year of misery. Many other problems during the build. I would not recommend their services.
